My philosophy around design is rooted in curiosity, play and empathy.

I believe we can create the best solutions when we look at problem-solving though playful actions. Whether it be a mock-up, an interview with a subject-matter expert, or an interactive model it opens up the mind for wonderful new possibilities.

This idea of playful problem-solving keep me happily designing products and solutions for clients.

Experience

MLILY USA • Senior Product Designer

Nov. 2020 - Nov. 2022

  • Spearheaded the design team through research, development, production and testing of 50+ products. Partnered with marketing, sales and customer service to inspire cross-functional collaboration on product development and feedback. Gained buy-in from multiple departments lead to less issues, improved team camaraderie and overall customer satisfaction improved significantly.

  • Brainstormed improvements on design development process. Established and maintained a stage-gate design process to create a structured design process for product design department. Utilizing the new development process project completion efficiently improved by 10%.

  • Communication between design and manufacturing was lacking. Established a bi-monthly communication meeting with manufacturing partners to discuss product quality and present feedback on current samples. The new collaboration decreased product flaws and improved overall product quality.

  • Evaluated product complaints regarding losing remotes in adjustable bed base product. Conceptualized a digital application to improve customer satisfaction and reduce manufacturing costs. The digital remote application was projected to save 5% on manufacturing and labor costs.

Diamond Mattress • Product Developer

April 2019 - Nov. 2020

  • Honed skills in design process by researching technology and trends, developing 2D renderings, and leading quality assurance in sample production. Improved design skills and established strong connections with clients. Developed over $500,000 in mattresses for Living Spaces and Jerome’s Furniture.

  • Noted brand packaging was outdated. Re-imagined packaging and displays using Adobe Suite applications, improved graphics and icons on marketing materials and partnered with marketing dep. to refresh website presence. Newly updated branding and marketing materials generated over $90,000 of marketing materials for clients monthly.

  • Inspired and educated 3 interns in 6-month periods. Shaped interns design skill development in brainstorming sessions, shadowing quality assurance factory sessions, and practicing rendering for product presentations. Interns assistance allowed for 5 additional client projects, enriching business connections and creating additional profit for the company.

Weaver • Part-Time Associate User Experience Designer

July 2021 - Jan 2022

  • Increased knowledge on principles of user experience design. Conceptualized and brainstormed with CEO on user interactions and development of pop-up screens in user interface. Engaged in rounds of feedback and offered solutions for the first launch of Weaver App. With my contributions added Weaver’s first launch gained over 700 subscriptions generated in the first 2 days of launch.

  • CEO needed assistance in development of a style guide to maintain consistent branding in user interface. Partnered with CEO using Figma software to create a fully functional style guide. With the updated style guide the developer had less questions and was able to develop functional code 3x faster then in previous weeks of development.

A-Light Architectural Lighting • Junior Product Designer

August 2014 - May 2018

  • Developed a greater understanding for the design process while shadowing Senior Designer. Assisted in development of 2 industrial grade LED Light projects.

  • Increased my product conceptualizing skills by sketching and developing 15-30 lighting product concepts weekly and presenting them to the out of state creative director bi-monthly.

  • Assisted senior designer with 10 LED light product tests, installing lighting samples to test manufacturing of parts and assist in creation of light set up manual creation every 2-6 weeks.

Lead product designer on creative team. Responsibilities included formulating design concepts and presentations for visual communication to clients, researching design trends and technology, and presenting to creative director in develop of design solutions.

Began as an entry level product designer and grew into Senior Product designer role after one year. Main responsibilities included developing creative designs and presenting to clients, interfacing with vendors, assisting with quality assurance in on-site factory and created artwork for marketing department.

Reached out to Weaver Dating to gain experience in user experience design. Responsibilities included interfacing with CEO/founder in design brainstorm sessions, assisting with UI design development, and sitting in on meetings with developer partner.
